Sharp MFDs have the ability to send detailed meter click information using the email
system and can be programmed to broadcast this at regular intervals to a defined
email server. This makes the collection of meter click information easier, but how
can one report be generated containing the required information from all those emails?
BITS Metis is designed to report this information either collected automatically from
the email server or entered manually (for those machines that do not have the email
capability). Single or multiple reports can be printed in a variety of formats giving
you the flexibility to record the required information. From these reports users
can be billed for their prints and copies giving you the ability to recharge the
cost.
Collection of emails is just one button press away. Once all messages have
been gathered the option is given to process this new information. The Metis display
shows both meter click information received from emails and manually entered meter
click information to give a complete picture of machine usage throughout the organisation.
Meter Click information is presented by either Machine or Account view.
The Machine view displays collected information from a machine’s perspective giving machine
totals and a breakdown of each User Account Code on that machine, including the
machine’s grand total.
The Account view displays all User Account Codes, the machines
used by that code and the grand total of prints and copies for that User Account
Code. Custom reports can be created, printed and stored. These can be based on a
predefined report style for quick and easy reporting or you can design your own
report style to meet your own company requirements. Metis supports collection of
email via either POP3 or IMAP, and Secure Password Authentication and SSL are supported.
